William G. McGowan Scholarship

• Must be a full-time junior
• Has declared and is pursuing a primary major in an academic program offered by the Barney School of Business
• Undergraduate students are eligible when they have junior standing and plan on spending their next academic year at the same institution
• Graduate students must have completed at least one semester of graduate work and plan on completing their graduate degree requirements at the same institution
• While part-time graduate students may apply, they must become full-time students during the term of the scholarship
• Must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0
• Applicants must submit to the Business Faculty Committee of the college or university a 1,000 word essay on the contributions of William G. McGowan to today’s business world in general, and to the telecommunications field in particular
• The essay shall include a cover page that specifies the name of the college or university, the student’s name, campus address and home address as well as phone numbers at both addresses
• The winning essay should be sent to the McGowan Fund promptly following the Scholar’s selection
